Match each parabola with its correct vertex from the list.
If you know how parabolas work, you can solve each problem set without math. But most of you probably don’t have this knowledge yet. I recommend that you use math to find the vertex for two or three of the parabolas. Then you can use your logic, deduction, and spatial reasoning skills to solve the rest.
As you are working through the Problem Sets #1 to #4, observe how the vertex changes as the coefficients change. Record these changes because this knowledge will become very useful in solving Problem Set #5 & #6—if you don’t want to use math.
And keep your notes because there are more parabolas coming.
Hint: For parabola “ax2+bx+c,” how does the vertex change if “a” changes? If “b” changes? If “c” changes?
